YEREVAN, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- A conference on nanoscience and technology kicked off on Friday in Yerevan, capital of Armenia, to outline Iranian-Armenian cooperation prospects in the sphere of nanotechnology, the Armenian Ministry of Economic Development and Investments said.

Suren Karayan, Armenian minister of economic development and investments, said the first such Armenian-Iranian conference would create many opportunities for Armenian entrepreneurs given Iran's success in the sector.

He also expressed the hope that the cooperation between Armenian and Iranian specialists would result in new solutions in the area.

A number of scientific reports and discussions are expected to be tabled on the first day of the conference, while the second day will see companies present their products, equipment and commercialization experience, including potential directions of cooperation between firms in the two countries.
