SINGAPORE, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) dropping 0.24 percent or 7.88 points to close at 3,218.07.
A total of 1.87 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 824.4 million Singapore dollars (about 612.94 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 203 to 182.
The STI index went down 0.49 percent or 15.9 points to close at 3,225.95 Tuesday.
