LONDON, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.52 percent, or 37.81 points, to close at 7,253.28 points.
BAE Systems, a British multinational defence, security and aerospace company, soared 3.94 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Johnson Matthey and GKN increased by 2.65 percent and 2.60 percent, respectively.
The multinational tobacco company Imperial Brands was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.85 percent. Randgold Resources, a global gold mining business, dropped 1.72 percent. Mediclinic International, an international private hospital group, fell 1.63 percent. Enditem
