HANOI, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's national U-19 women football squad will gather here on Friday to start training for the approaching 2017 AFC U-19 Women's Championship.
A total of 26 young Vietnamese players will undergo intensive training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center in Hanoi before going to the Chinese city of Nanjing to attend the biennial tournament from Oct. 15-28, the Vietnam Football Federation said on Thursday.
In Group B, Vietnam will clash with Japan on Oct. 16, with South Korea on Oct. 19, and with Australia on Oct. 22.
Group A consists of China, DPR Korea, Thailand and Uzbekistan.
The top three teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in France as the AFC representatives.
