BEIJING, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met with visiting Thai Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol on Friday, calling for joint efforts to cooperate more under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Li praised the Thai royal family's important role in promoting China-Thailand relations.

Both countries are facing important development opportunities, Li said, expressing his hope that the two sides will strengthen traditional friendship, deepen pragmatic cooperation to advance the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation.

The princess said Thailand and China have close cooperation in all fields and the two peoples are friendly to each other, and she called for more cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
