HO CHI MINH CITY, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- During the three-day National Day holiday, Vietnam reported 75 traffic accidents which killed 58 people and injured 60 others, the National Traffic Safety Committee said Monday.
On Monday alone, Vietnam witnessed 25 traffic accidents which claimed 22 lives and injured 16 people.
In the first eight months of this year, 12,775 traffic accidents killed 5,422 people, seriously injured 3,153 people, and slightly injured 7,381 others, posting respective year-on-year declines of 6.3 percent, 5.5 percent, 16.2 percent and 8.2 percent, said Vietnam's General Statistics Office.
