JAKARTA, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- An Indonesian cultural mission will go to Europe to participate in the upcoming Europe's biennial arts festival of Europalia.
The mission, comprised of artists and traditional performers, will showcase Indonesia's traditions and cultural heritages in the event.
This year, the 26th Europalia festival, themed "Heritage, Contemporary, Creation, Exchange," is scheduled to be opened in Brussels, Belgium on October 10 with programs and related events running until January next year.
At a launching ceremony of Indonesia's participation in the upcoming festival on Thursday, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said that besides introducing Indonesia's traditions and cultural heritages, Indonesia will use the event to promote its tourism in European countries.
He added that his ministry has targeted to welcome 2 million European visitors this year, higher than 1.6 million recorded last year.
