SINGAPORE, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks finished higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) rising 12 points, or 0.37 percent, to close at 3,277.26.
A total of 2.19 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.52 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.12 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 217 to 181.
The STI index went up 15.92 points, or 0.49 percent, to close at 3,265.26 on Wednesday.
It will be Singapore Exchange holiday on Friday, which is the Hari Raya Haji.
