TRIPOLI, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Islamic State (IS) group in Libya on Monday released a video showing two Libyan officials held captives.
The two officials are Sagayar Majri of the Constitution Drafting Assembly, and Mohammed Abu Bakr, a member of the Petroleum Facilities Guard.
The video footage, which was posted by Amaq News Agency, IS's propaganda outlet, also showed members of the group setting a check point in a main road in central Libya and inspecting vehicles passing by.
The road is a main link between Sirte in the north all the way to the south.
An army spokesman last week said that IS members have slaughtered nine soldiers and two civilians in a checkpoint in southern Libya.
IS has been defeated last year by the forces of the UN-backed government of national accord and expelled from their former haven in Sirte, some 450 km east the capital Tripoli.
