STOCKHOLM, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Sweden's Peder Fredricson claimed the individual Jumping title in a tense and thrilling finale to the Longines FEI European Championships 2017 in Gothenburg, Sweden, on Sunday.
Fredricson and his horse H&M All In, won the gold in front of the Swedish Queen Silvia and over 15,000 fans at Ullevi Stadium in the final day's competition.
The 45-year-old, who took individual silver at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, performed two thrilling rounds to finish just ahead of The Netherlands' Harrie Smolders. Ireland's Cian O'Connor claimed the bronze.
He said after the win, "Like any athlete you are not enjoying the pressure but you just have to be comfortable with it and try to not let it get to you. Focus on what you should do and focus on your horse and your team, and try to make all the preparations right and deliver on the day and not start thinking about other things. I'm really happy I could give my horse this gold medal."
