VIENNA, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed and one was seriously injured as a mountain climbing group crashed in a mountain accident on the Mannlkarscharte district of Zell am See, in Salzburg, Austria, on Sunday morning, Austria New Agency APA reported.
A mountaineering traveller group might have crashed, said Anton Voithofer, a spokesman of the Red Cross was quoted as saying. Some five rescue helicopters are deployed at the site for first-aid operation.
"We are currently assuming that it was a matter of a skirmish. It is not possible to explain a misfortune," said the spokesman.
"At the moment, we can not care for any relatives, because it is not yet clear where the victims came from," Voithofer added.
