XINING, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- China's first Tibetan-language search engine, www.yongzin.com, has attracted more than 120 million visits since its launch a year ago, the developers said.

Users of the search engine cover China's 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, as well as 66 other countries and regions, such as the United States, Britain and India, according to Tselo, founder of the search engine.

The most searched words are those relating to environmental protection, ethnic solidarity, literature, Tibetan medicine and Buddhism, said Tselo, who is also director of the Tibetan Language Work Committee of the Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China's Qinghai Province.

The search engine has eight sections: news, websites, images, videos, music, encyclopedia, literature and forums.

So far, the encyclopedia section has received more than 20,000 entries, the literature section has over 10,000 documents, and nearly 20,000 questions have been answered in the forum section.

Tselo said the next step was to commercialize the tool.

Yongzin means "master" or "teacher" in Tibetan. The mobile app for the search engine has been downloaded 210,000 times.
