BARCELONA, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- More than 140 Muslim groups and associations have confirmed their presence in an event to be held Monday evening to show their rejection of terrorism in the wake of the terror attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, which claimed 15 lives.
The Ibn Battuta Foundation has confirmed that 143 different groups from Barcelona and the surrounding regions have confirmed their presence at the city's Plaza Catalunya square, which on Friday saw a minute's homage to the victims of Thursday's attacks.
Among those attending will be associations of students from Morocco and Pakistan, the Multicultural Muslim Youth Association and representatives of Mosques, along with other cultural and political groups.
The event will be held under the banner "The Muslim Community against Terrorism." The groups will also participate in a march organized by the Catalan regional government and the Barcelona local authority on Saturday under the banner "We Are Not Afraid."
