RABAT, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Oukabir family have said they are "in shock" at the news that two of their sons were implicated in terror attacks in Spain, local media reported.

Moussa Oukabir, 17, was one of five men shot dead after knocking down pedestrians in the Catalan seaside resort of Cambrils in the early hours of Friday.

His brother, Driss Oukabir, 27, was arrested in the Spanish town of Ripoll on Thursday just hours after a van sped into crowds on the busy Las Ramblas avenue in central Barcelona, leaving 14 people dead.

In an interview with the Moroccan news site Alyaoum24.com, Said Oukabir said his son was "normal," and he had visited his family in Morocco a month earlier, and "no sign of change appeared on him."

"We were preparing for a wedding before the news came. Our family's name became everywhere in the worldwide media, and the photos of Moussa and his brother became viral on social media," members of the family told the news site.

The father expressed the family's solidarity with the victims of the attacks, adding that "what his son did is a sin that will be borne by the family forever."
