SARAJEVO, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Audience of all generations gave a warm welcome to the Blue Orchestra Band for holding an exquisite concert on Friday late night in the Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) capital Sarajevo.

After the fireworks that marked the official end of the 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival, several thousand people ran to the main stage in front of the Eternal Fire monument in the center of Sarajevo, to watch the long anticipated concert.

Some ten thousand people sang along with the very known hit "Girl from Dreams", a song that kicked off the concert and allowed the audience to remember the first time it was played in 1999.

The audience of older generations recalled the time when the Blue Orchestra was one of the most popular bands in Yugoslavia and enjoyed two hours of popular songs that were sung some 30 years ago.

The spectacular concert that the blue Orchestra gave as a "gift" to residents of Sarajevo, marked their Everblue Live 2017 tour that will continue on Saturday night in Belgrade.

Addressing prior to the concert, the executive producer of the Blue Orchestra Rijad Vojnikovic praised the strategic cooperation in all sectors.

"We had a strong need to start our musical tour from Sarajevo because we are a band that was established in Sarajevo, and it was a demanding project because we had seven days to prepare, but all the structures of government helped us," Vojnikovic said.

The organizers of the concert are the Tourist Association of Canton Sarajevo, Sarajevo Canton and the City of Sarajevo.

The Blue Orchestra, established in 1983, was one of the most popular pop music bands in Yugoslavia. Having the label of "cultural phenomenon of 80's and 90's", the Blue Orchestra has sold 5 million tracks and held 1,500 concerts worldwide.
