Indian stock market opens lower

MUMBAI, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- The Indian stock market opened lower Friday after consecutive sessions of positive movements in the ongoing week.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex opened at 31,584.62, 210.84 points or 0.7 percent down compared to its previous close at 31,795.46.
