RIYADH, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Saudi-led coalition fighting Houthi militias in Yemen denied reports that it targeted a house in Mahdah area in the southwest of Saada Province, Saudi Press Agency reported Tuesday.
The joint command reviewed all operations conducted in Saada on Friday, and the house was not in the range of its targets, Col. Turki al-Malki, the coalition's spokesman, said in a statement.
Al-Malki said the statements of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs were based on personal estimates rather than a fair and systematic investigation.
The unconfirmed field reports could have been more accurate if with patience, credibility and evidence, he added.
The joint command, in coordination with the government of Yemen, its international partners and friends, is investigating through available means, al-Malki explained.
It is reported that at least 12 civilians were killed Friday in airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition on a house in Mahdha area in Safra district and a private vehicle in Burkan area in Razih district.
On Tuesday, the Saudi forces intercepted two missiles targeting Saudi Arabia. The first one was fired from the northern Yemen and fell in the international waters of the Red Sea, while the second one was launched from Yemen's Marib and targeted the Saudi holy city of Medina, Al Arabiya local news reported.
