Cairo, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's Prosecution decided on Monday to send the suspect who killed three foreign female tourists in July to a mental health hospital for 45 days.

The move aims at checking on the mental and psychological health of the suspect, official MENA news agency reported.

In mid July, a man attacked a beach in Egypt's Red Sea resort city of Hurghada, killing two German women and wounding four others, including two from Armenia and one from the Czech Republic.

Right after the attack, the prosecution said the motives behind the stabbing accident are still unclear.

Terror attacks and political turmoil have damaged the country's once-thriving tourism sector that used to bring billions of foreign currency to the state treasury. Enditem
