LONDON, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.16 percent, or 12.23 points, to close at 7,411.43 points.
Old Mutual, an international investment and banking group, soared 2.84 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. ITV and Paddy Power Betfai increased by 2.51 percent and 2.27 percent, respectively.
The major British multinational banking group Standard Chartered was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 6.05 percent.
