AMMAN, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's King Abdullah II on Thursday urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "take legal action" against a security guard who shot dead two Jordanians in Amman.
The King added that Netanyahu should not use the case for political and persona gains, adding that the way Israel is dealing with the case destabilizes security, feeds extremism and will have "direct impact" on ties between the two countries, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
"One of the Israeli embassy staffers killed two of citizens and we will not spare any effort and means to ensure justice," the king said.
King Abdullah on Thursday also paid tribute to the families of the two Jordanians and stressed on Jordan's respect of international laws.
On Sunday, an Israeli embassy staffer killed a Jordanian and injured another Jordanian doctor who later died from wounds. The Israeli diplomat claimed that the teenager attempted to attack him with a screwdriver.
The situation led to a standoff between Jordan and Israel, but after investigations Jordan allowed the Israeli guard to leave for Tel Aviv.
The authorities in Jordan said Thursday that they will take all legal measures to ensure that the Israeli guard who killed two Jordanians is tried.
