ABUJA, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Terror group Boko Haram has killed four in yet another attack on a town near Nigeria's northeastern city of Maiduguri, a local emergency official confirmed on Thursday.
Four female suicide bombers were suspected to have carried out the attack on Mandirari Village in Konduga local district, a few kilometers from Maiduguri, the largest city in Nigeria's northeast region, late Wednesday, said Bello Dabatta, head of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency.
According to the official, four civilians were killed in the attack while the number of people injured in the attack was not clear.
Despite heavy military presence, Nigeria's northeast region continues to witness deadly attacks by Boko Haram, especially in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
Last month, Maiduguri was jolted by bombings during Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
Boko Haram has been blamed for the deaths of more than 20,000 people and displacing of 2.3 million others in Nigeria since their insurgency started in 2009. Enditem
