FRANKFURT, July 18 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 156.77 points, or 1.25 percent, to close at 12,430.39 points.
German global banking and financial services company Deutsche Bank lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.51 percent, followed by multinational chemical firm Linde and European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1, which lost 2.05 percent and 2.01 percent respectively.
Housing association Vonovia, personal-care company Beiersdorf and tire specialist Continental lost the least among the blue chips, losing 0.20 percent, 0.23 percent and 0.29 percent respectively.
Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 304.64 million euros (352.01 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
