KIEV, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Three people, including a child, were killed on Wednesday in a train-car collision in Ukraine's southern Zaporozhe region, the State Service for Emergency of Ukraine said.
The passenger train, travelling between the southern city of Genichesk and the western city of Ivano-Frankivsk, crashed into a car at about 12:52 p.m. local time (09:52 GMT) at an unprotected rural railway crossing, the agency said in a statement.
Three passengers of the car, two parents and their one-year-old baby, died on the spot while the train drivers and other passengers were not injured, the statement said.
Witnesses said the car was dragged 700 meters along the rail line before the train stopped.
The investigation into the cause of the accident has been underway.
