LONDON, July 4 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.27 percent, or 19.86 points, to close at 7,357.23 points.
Worldpay Group, a payment processing company, soared 27.70 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Randgold Resources and Kingfisher increased by 2.01 percent and 1.21 percent, respectively.
The British sub-prime lender Provident Financial was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.98 percent. Smith & Nephew, a British-based multinational medical equipment manufacturing company, dropped 1.88 percent. The international medical products and technologies company ConvaTec Group fell 1.82 percent. Enditem
