TIRANA, June 30 (Xinhua) -- Albania's new president will be sworn in on July 24, president's cabinet informed Friday in a press release.
"Through a decree which takes effect right away, the Head of State has set the date of 24 July for the swearing-in of President-elect Ilir Meta," President Bujar Nishani's cabinet informed.
Ilir Meta was elected on April 28, 2017 President of the Republic of Albania with 87 votes pro and two against.
Meta will hold the post of President of the Republic during 2017-2022, which in Albania has a largely ceremonial role.
