Residents evacuated as fire breaks out at building in east London

LONDON, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Residents have been evacuated after a fire broke out in a low-rise building in east London on Saturday, local media reported.

One man has been injured by the smoke at the four-storey building on Turin Street, Bethnal Green.

Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters have tackled the blaze after flames engulfed a flat on the top floor of the building, according to reports.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
