LUSAKA, June 21 (Xinhua) -- The Zambian government has revised its economic growth target for 2017, a senior official said on Wednesday.

Minister of Finance Felix Mutati said the economic growth projection for this year has been revised from 3.4 percent to four percent.

The projection was revised during a meeting with multilateral organizations recently, he added.

The government, he said, has focused on achieving growth, reducing inflation and stabilizing the exchange rate within the first five months of the year, adding that indications were so far showing that the country was on a right path to economic recovery, according to state broadcaster, the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation.
