LONDON, June 16 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.60 percent, or 44.18 points, to close at 7,463.54 points.
St James's Place, a UK-based wealth management business, soared 4.22 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Mondi and DCC increased by 4.13 percent and 3.67 percent respectively.
The British multinational grocery and general merchandise retailer Tesco was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.92 percent. J Sainsbury, a major British supermarkets chain dropped 3.85 percent, while multinational mining company Anglo American fell 2.79 percent. Enditem
