Two Saudis killed in car blast wanted for serious terrorist crimes

RIYADH, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Interior Ministry announced Tuesday that the two Saudis who died on June 1 in car blast were wanted for serious terrorist crimes, including murder, Sabq online news reported.

The two were killed in Qatif in the Eastern Province when their car that was transporting ammunition and explosives to Al Awamiyah exploded, while three others in the car, who are also fugitives, managed to escaped.

The ministry spokesperson highlighted that the car was used for a number of terrorist and criminal crimes.

The first deceased was accused of murdering five soldiers in separate cases, including shooting attack against police station in Qatif, kidnapping and murdering two soldiers, in association with the second deceased.

The announcement was made a day after one of police patrols was targeted in bomb blast that killed an officer and injured two policemen in Qatif region in the Eastern Province.

Violence in Qatif has escalated after the demolishing of deserted houses that were the hideouts of fugitives, who are behind rioting and vandalism in the region.
