Indonesian cyclists to vie in Japan Track Cup 2017

JAKARTA, June 12 (Xinhua) -- The national cycling team of Indonesia would compete in Japan Track Cup this year, manager of the team disclosed here on Monday.

A total of 10 male and female cyclists would take part in the international championship in Izu of Japan on July 7, manager of the Indonesian team Budi Saputra said in a statement.

The event would be warming up for the Indonesian cyclists before they competed in the 29th SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia from Aug. 19 to 30, said Saputra.

"The Indonesian cycling federation wants all these athletes to be able to boost skill through the experience in this competition ahead of their participation in the SEA Games 2017 in Malaysia," he said.

The cyclists will depart to Japan on July 2, the manager said.

In addition to participating in the Japan Track Cup 2017, the Indonesian cyclists plan to practice in Netherlands, said Saputra.
