Dollar changes hands in upper 109 yen zone in early trade in Tokyo

TOKYO, June 9 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar changed hands in the upper 109 yen range in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, principally in line with levels seen overnight in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar fetched 109.90-109.91 yen compared with 109.95-110.05 yen in New York and 109.76-77 yen at 5 p.m. local time on Thursday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1192-1193 dollars and 123.02-03 yen against 1.1208-1218 dollars and 123.38-48 yen in New York and 1.1259-1261 dollars and 123.58-62 yen in late Thursday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
