DHAKA, June 8 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves reached 32.25 billion U.S. dollars by the end of May this year, said a central bank official on Thursday.
The Bangladesh Bank (BB) Forex Reserve and Treasury Management Department official told Xinhua that foreign exchange reserves stood at 32,245.69 million dollars in May compared with 32,518.77 million dollars in April.
Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves crossed the 32-billion-dollar mark for the first time in December last year on a steady inflow of remittances.
The Official said Bangladesh is in a position to pay over 10 months' import bills with the existing reserves, which are also enough to help the central bank in keeping the foreign exchange market stable.
