NEW DELHI, June 6 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed and a few others injured Tuesday after an overloaded truck collided with a car in western Indian state of Rajasthan, police said.
The mishap took place near the Chomu House circle area of Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan.
"In an accident that took place here today five people were killed and few others were injured," a police official said. "The bodies have been retrieved from the spot and injured taken to hospital."
Officials said the truck loaded with salt fell on the ill-fated car and crushed it under its weight.
Police said they have removed the mangled car and the truck from the accident site and were trying to clear the road by removing salt bags.
A case has been registered into the accident and investigations ordered.
