JERUSALEM, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian cars were vandalized and racist slogans were spray-painted in two separated hate attacks in Jerusalem on Monday, Israeli police said.

The police suspect that the attacks were perpetrated by ultra-nationalists Israelis.

Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said that the incident took place in the early morning in the French Hill, a neighborhood in northern East Jerusalem, and near the Bar-Lev Road, where many of the Palestinian hotels of East Jerusalem are located.

According to Samri, "several" vehicles were vandalized. The perpetrators punched with cars' tiers with knives and sprayed graffiti, reading "Death to Arabs."

Ameer Abu Hamad, a resident of the French Hill, said the perpetrators vandalized his car and four additional vehicles. Photos that he posted on Facebook showed a graffiti reads "Regards from Benjamin Richter - Revenge."

In February 2015, an Israeli court sentenced Benjamin Richter, a settler from the illegal outpost of Khavat Gilad in the West Bank, to three years in prison after he was found guilty in torching Palestinian cars in a hate crime attack. Benjamin was released from jail last week.

According to Samri, the police launched an investigation but has yet to apprehend any suspects.

Far-right Israelis have carried out thousands of the so-called "price tag" attacks over the past years. The attacks include violence against Palestinians in the West Bank and Israel, and vandalism of mosques, churches, cemeteries, and personal property.

Israel occupied the West Bank in the 1967 Mideast war and had controlled it ever since, in a move denounced by the international community.
