GAZA, June 4 (Xinhua) -- A senior Islamic Hamas delegation headed on Sunday for talks with senior Egyptian security officials in Egypt, said an official at the Rafah border crossing point between the Gaza Strip and Egypt.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told reporters that the Hamas movement delegation included Gazan Hamas chief, Yahya Sinwar, his deputy Khalil al-Hayya and Gazan security chief Gen. Tawfiq Abu N'eame.
He added that the delegation suddenly arrived at the Rafah border crossing with Egypt and is scheduled to discuss with the Egyptian side several issues concerning ties between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
Hamas has been ruling the coastal enclave since it violently seized control of it 10 years ago.
Ties between Hamas and Egypt deteriorated following the Islamic movement's support of ousted Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
Egypt frequently accused Hamas of intervening in Egypt's internal affairs, an accusation which has always been denied by Gazan Hamas leaders.
