PARIS, June 2 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.47 percent, or 24.74 points, to close at 5,343.41 points.
A total of 33 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French car supplier group Valeo advanced 2.82 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French tire manufacturer Michelin (CGDE) gained 2.06 percent. Commercial property investor Unibail-Rodamco rose 1.83 percent.
Steel giant ArcelorMittal dropped 3.44 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French water and waste group Veolia Environnement went down by 1.70 percent, and French multinational construction corporation Company de Saint-Gobain lost 0.93 percent. Enditem
