BEIRUT, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's Tourism Minister Avedis Guidanian said on Wednesday that Lebanon's tourism in the upcoming summer season "will be promising."
The minister's remarks came at the inauguration of the Lebanon Travel Forum at Beirut Hippodrome, where more than 50 tourism partners from various Lebanese regions participated.
"Such forums and exhibitions help support and improve tourism in Lebanon," he said.
More than 150 international companies in the fields of marketing, conferences and exhibitions, will take part in the forum, according to Guidanian.
At the inauguration, Anne Patterson, director of the U.S. Agency for International Development in Lebanon, highlighted her country's continued support for Lebanon's economic development by supporting its key sectors like tourism.
"The U.S. government has invested more than 2.25 million U.S. dollars to promote rural tourism in Lebanon through the development of tourism projects, products and places that generate income for small businesses, especially through the development of economic and work opportunities," she said.
The Lebanon Travel Forum, in its fourth edition, will continue until May 27.
