VIENTIANE, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and his cabinet members have approved at their monthly meeting on Tuesday the development of the 113.7-km section I of the Vientiane-Boten expressway.
The section I of the highway project will stretch from Vientiane to Vientiane Province.
The development of the highway section is expected to cost around 1.4 billion U.S. dollars, Lao government spokesman Chaleun Yiapaoher told a press briefing.
The Lao government has urged relevant sectors to adjust their draft documents according to the recommendations made by the cabinet and to attach greater importance to the guidance of relevant contractors to ensure the design and budget calculation of the project is precise and realistic.
