SIPG wins Shanghai Derby by 3-1 in Chinese Super League

BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Shanghai SIPG won the city derby in the tenth round of 2017 Chinese Super League (CSL), as the club managed a 3-1 away victory over Shanghai Greenland on Saturday.

Wu Lei scored the opener for SIPG in the 35th minute, before Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins equalized for the home team in the 40th minute. Neither side was able to score a goal for a long time, when Brazilian striker Hulk received the pass from his compatriot Elkeson and took the lead again for SIPG. Li Yunqiu from Greenland conceded an own goal in the 91st minute and the final score became 3-1.

In other tenth round matches today, Yanbian tied 1-1 with Shandong Luneng. Gambian striker Bubacarr Trawally and Brazilian international Diego Tardelli each scored a penalty for their club. Tianjin Quanjian FC edged Chongqng Lifan 1-0, with Alexandre Pato scoring the sole goal in the game. Hebei China Fortune beat Liaoning Shenyang Carsing 2-0, and the scorers were Ren Hang and U-23 player Gui Hong.

Earlier this Friday, Guangzhou Evergrande edged Jiangsu Suning 2-1 in their home stadium. Alan earned two goals for the home team, but Xie Pengfei pulled back one goal for Suning. Li Xuepeng was sent off in the 81st minute, but Guangzhou Evergrande kept the lead until the end of the game.
