MACAO, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Macao's business climate for restaurants and retailers was improved in March this year, according to a recent survey conducted by Macao's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Around 47 percent of the interviewed restaurants reported a year-on-year growth in receipts in March, up by 10 percentage points from February.
Almost half of the Chinese restaurants saw a significant increase in receipts, up by an average of 30 percentage points from February.
In retail industry, 50 percent of the interviewed retailers reported a year-on-year increase in sales in March, up by 20 percentage points from February.
All of the interviewed leather goods retailers showed a year-on-year rise in sales in March. Moreover, more than half of those retailers such as adults' clothing, motor vehicle, watches, clocks and jewellery retailers recorded a year-on-year growth in sales.
The interviewed restaurants and retailors have anticipated a stable business performance in April, according to the DSEC.
