Macron becomes new French president

PARIS, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Emmanuel Macron was sworn in as the president of France in an inauguration ceremony at the Elysee Palace here on Sunday.

Francois Hollande, the country's former president, has left the Elysee Palace following a one-hour meeting with his successor Macron.
