BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit about 100 km off the Pacific coast of El Salvador on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The powerful quake struck at 1041 GMT. The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 12.9108 degrees north latitude and 90.0562 degrees west longitude.
