RABAT, May 8 (Xinhua) -- The Inspector General of Morocco's Army Fathallah El Ouarrak and Portuguese Defense Minister Jose Alberto Azeredo Lopes expressed Monday both countries' desire to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation.
Talks between the two generals addressed different aspects of defense cooperation between the two countries, the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces (FAR) said in a statement.
The two officials expressed satisfaction at the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation and the shared will to cement it, the statement noted.
According to the same source, the cooperation between the two countries is based on the agreement signed in September 1993 in Lisbon, which covers the exchange of visits and expertise.
A meeting of the mixed military commission is organized every two years to program activities in training and exchange.
