China has no intention of staging a solo play in the Belt and Road Initiative, but would like to consult and work closely with parties concerned to make the Initiative beneficial to all, said a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Friday.
外交部發言人耿爽5日在回應有關“中國掌控‘一帶一路’建設”的言論時説，“一帶一路”倡議由中國提出，但其建設由大家共同進行，中方無意唱獨角戲。
Spokesperson Geng Shuang made the remarks while responding to some Western opinions that the Belt and Road Initiative is not win-win as China seeks to dominate.
當日例行記者會上，有記者問：“一帶一路”國際合作高峰論壇在不到十天后就將開幕，各界的關注度越來越高，媒體報道也越來越多。我們注意到西方有一種聲音認為，“一帶一路”倡議並非“共贏”，而是中國在“掌控”。中方對此有何回應？
"Although the Belt and Road Initiative was put forward by China, it is to be carried out by all parties. China has no intention to stage a solo play," he told a daily press briefing.
China always sticks to the principle of "extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits" in carrying out the Belt and Road Initiative, Geng said.
耿爽説，“一帶一路”倡議提出以來，外界一直有各種解讀。“我們也注意到你提到的類似觀點。這完全是出於定式思維的誤解。”
他説，“一帶一路”倡議由中國提出，但“一帶一路”建設是由大家共同進行。中方無意唱獨角戲，也不想搞一言堂，而是始終堅持“共商、共建、共享”理念，大家一起商量，一起做事，一起受益。
他説，目前，中方正同出席高峰論壇的有關國家就論壇的成果文件進行協商。這份文件最終將是“共商”的産物，凝聚的是集體智慧和共識，而不是中方的一家之言。
The Belt and Road Initiative, comprising the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, was first proposed by China in 2013.
Since then, over 100 countries and international organizations have responded warmly to the Belt and Road Initiative, with more than 40 signing cooperation agreements with China, according to the spokesperson.
耿爽介紹，“一帶一路”倡議提出以來，已有100多個國家和國際組織積極響應支持，40多個國家和國際組織同中國簽署了合作協議，沿線各國積極對接發展戰略、全面推進合作項目。各國“共建”的熱情與日俱增，成績有目共睹。
The Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, scheduled for May 14-15 in Beijing, will draw representatives from 110 countries.
Geng said China is in consultations with participant countries on an outcome document for the upcoming forum.
"The document will be a product of joint consultation, wisdom and consensus, rather than China's single opinion," the spokesman said.
另外，值得一提的是，將有來自110個國家的各界人士參與論壇。如果‘一帶一路’真是中方‘掌控’，如果大家真的無法‘共享’收益，我想他們是不會踴躍參與的。”他説。
"China hopes to work closely with all participants for a full success of the forum and to inject new and stronger vitality into the Belt and Road Initiative," he added.
耿爽説，總之，中方願與與會各方共同努力推動“一帶一路”國際合作高峰論壇圓滿成功，進一步凝聚共識，指明方向，做出規劃，推進成果，為“一帶一路”倡議注入新的、更強大的動力。
