SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Masked gunmen on Wednesday targeted two more banks in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir and looted cash worth thousands of dollars on gunpoint, police said.

The burglary took place at two places in Pulwama district, about 35 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

The two robberies were said to have taken place within a span of two hours.

Soon after the incident police rushed to the spots. However, no arrests have been made so far.

On Monday, five policemen and two security guards of a bank were killed after militants attacked a cash carrying vehicle belonging to Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Kulgam district.

Indigenous militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
