BUCHAREST, April 24 (Xinhua) -- Romania will launch an app to trace waste starting this year, through which related authorities and partner institutions can exchange information, the National Environmental Guard (GNM) said Monday.
The project, financed through the European Economic Area (EEA) Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 to the amount of 1 million euros (1.09 million U.S. dollars), aims to enhance GNM's capacity to monitor and reduce hazardous waste in the environment.
The target group of the project involved 90 GNM inspectors and representatives of the connectors who, through the software, disseminate information to other employees in public institutions.
A dedicated website was created within the project to exchange information between the GNM and partner institutions.
