NEW YORK, April 13 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks traded mostly lower Thursday as Wall Street mainly digested a batch of economic reports.

At midday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 23.29 points, or 0.11 percent, to 20,568.57. The S&P 500 lost 1.61 points, or 0.07 percent, to 2,343.32. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 1.92 points, or 0.03 percent, to 5,838.08.

In a separate report, the department announced that in the week ending April 8, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 234,000, a decrease of 1,000 from the previous week's revised level.

The four-week moving average was 247,250, a decrease of 3,000 from the previous week's revised average. Enditem
