The Lao Judo Federation is eyeing previous representatives and new talent from many clubs in capital Vientiane to represent the nation this August. The federation held a practice tournament in Vientiane on Thursday with the participation of almost 100 judokas.

Officials also discussed preparations for filling spots in three male divisions and three female divisions for the 29th SEA Games which is slated for August 19-31, local daily Vientiane Times reported Friday.

"We will be able to announce the judokas in each category for the national team in July before travelling to Malaysia," federation official Mayouly Phanouvong said, adding that the door is open for new emerging talent to make the national squad.
