CAIRO, March 23 (Xinhua) -- Egypt and the Arab League (AL) strongly condemned on Thursday the recent terrorist attack near London's parliament building that killed five including the suspected perpetrator and injured 40 others.

In a military symposium held on Thursday, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi denounced Wednesday's attack in London and said, "We condemn in strongest terms every low and cowardly act of terrorism against anyone and in every place on earth."

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry also condemned the attack in an official statement earlier on Wednesday.

On the other hand, the Cairo-based AL denounced the terror attack in London as "a horrible criminal act" that contradicts all human and moral values and principles, offering sincere condolences to the British government and people.

"The attack draws attention again to the extent of seriousness of terrorist threats against the security and stability of communities across the world," AL Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit said in a statement on Thursday.

He urged collective international efforts to combat the phenomenon of terrorism via a treatment that addresses all related elements and copes with the developments of work methods of terror individuals and organizations.
