HOUSTON, March 15 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out late Wednesday at a refinery in Houston, the fourth largest city of the United States.
The fire occurred at about 7 p.m. local time (0000 GMT) at the LyondellBasell chemical refinery located in the eastern part of Houston.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The company confirmed the fire, saying in a statement that the fire happened in a cooling tower, which chills down hot water to a lower temperature and is not in contact with any hydrocarbons.
The company's firefighting team has been working together with the Houston Fire Departments in a bid to extinguish the fire as quickly as possible.
